Festival, fundraiser for local radio station planned Sunday

The first-ever “Going Nuts For the Holidays” will be held 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Sheraton Kona Resort and Spa at Keauhou Bay’s Keauhou Convention Center. The free event will feature an array of food, art, displays, live music and nuts. There will also be a Silent Auction and book signing by a local author.

At 5 p.m., a fundraiser for KONA LPFM 100.5 community radio will get underway with performances by artists like LT Smooth, Bolo and Maka. There is a $5 cover charge for the three-hour fundraiser; an additional donation of $20 for annual membership is suggested. Dubbed “The Voice of Kona,” KONA LPFM is a new member-supported radio station.
